AMA Research has a team of in-house researchers with recognised marketing qualifications and extensive marketing and market research experience across a wide number of disciplines, and the majority have worked for the company for 10 years or more. We also use experienced freelance staff for particular projects, most of whom have also worked with AMA Research for a long time and have specific subject or industry knowledge. All bespoke research projects are managed by an experienced member of staff and all analysis takes place in-house.
Having had a sales career spanning over 20 years – of which 16 have been in media/advertising – Jan has worked through two recessions as Key Account Manager, Ad Manager and Team Leader in a highly competitive field, and has gained significant experience and a great deal of resilience. She is proficient in rapport building and new business development, and coupled with her dry wit this makes for a memorable combination! In her current role at AMA, Jan deals with enquiries and handles all aspects of sales, business development and client management.
Adam is a construction data professional with over 25 years’ experience. In addition to being Brand Director for AMA Research, he is also Group Content Director at Barbour ABI and responsible for data and content in all products across the group.
Tom is Chief Economist at Barbour ABI and AMA Research, providing analysis and economic insight for the construction and related sectors, assessing the trends and developments that impact the industry. Tom has over a decade of experience in a variety of strategic and economic roles within the water and utilities sector and joined the team in early 2019. Offering bespoke research and tailored analysis to our clients, Tom also speaks at industry events and works closely with journalists and other industry bodies to provide commentary on the built environment.
Alex is a senior researcher with over 20 years’ experience of market research. He writes and edits reports and has also managed a large number of substantial bespoke research projects, for some of the biggest companies in the building and construction industry, including pan-European businesses with a base in the UK and large overseas manufacturers and distributors. Alex is particularly experienced in areas relating to the building envelope (cladding, roofing, drylining etc.); offsite construction; and also energy efficiency (insulation, renewables), waste management and recycling, having worked on the Waste Resources Action Programme, for which AMA was a framework partner for around 7 years.
With a degree in business and finance from Durham, Fiona worked in a competitor analyst role within a major global consumer electronics brand prior to joining AMA Research 10 years ago. She is primarily focused on the electrical and building products distribution sectors, but also writes and edits our contracting and facilities management reports. Fiona has worked on a number of bespoke research projects, on behalf of many leading electrical and electronic product manufacturers and distributors, as well as large-scale building products distribution companies.
Jane is a marketing and research professional who has worked in the B2B sector for over 25 years. She joined AMA Research in 1999, having previously worked as a marketing, research and business advisor for East Mercia Chamber of Commerce. Her key skills include project management, data & statistical analysis, editing & copywriting, primary & secondary data collection and report writing. Jane writes and edits reports and has particular experience in the décor sector (floorcoverings, tiles, window and wallcoverings etc.) as well as the garden, windows and doors sectors. She also works on client projects, produces AMA’s quarterly Construction Forecast Bulletin and co-writes the Economic & Construction Market Review.
Hayley is a marketing and market research professional with experience of the home improvement and utility sectors, having worked for companies including Kohler Mira Showers, Electrolux and EDF (British Energy). She has a degree in Marketing and Business Management and has substantial research experience in the bathroom & kitchen sector, as well as a number of construction, environmental and end-use sector markets. As a Market Research Manager, Hayley manages report production and has also been involved in numerous research projects with leading product manufacturers, distributors and industry organisations over the last 17 years.
